Capital Campaign

How you can help
$840,000

Please help fill Wolfy's Bowl by making a donation to the New Building Fund.
Help us fund the new $9.7 million shelter. Foothills Animal Foundation is seeking $3 million from the community to fund $1.5 million of remaining construction costs as well as establish an endowment for ongoing operations. Jefferson County has fully committed to this project by providing $3 million from a Jefferson County General Fund. Every citizen can make a difference by licensing their dog through the county-wide dog licensing program, which will raise an additional $5.2 million. The bottom line: Our community deserves better, and so do the animals. Please consider a donation today, and invest in this important community resource. For further details, visit the Brick Campaign page.   300 Donors + 2 months = $100,000!   Foothills Animal Shelter is a unique Inter-governmental organization.  Jefferson County, and the municipalities within the County, provide nearly 1/3 of our annual funding and provided over half of the funding for the new Foothills Animal Shelter facility.  Despite this generous support, the Foothills Animal Foundation is responsible for funding nearly $2,000,000 towards the construction of the new building.  The opportunity was presented by Jefferson County to build immediately, rather than waiting for the Capital Campaign funds to be raised, so even though the building is complete, Foothills Animal Foundation still needs to raise nearly $1,000,000. For further details contact Megan Peters, CEO, Foothills Animal Foundation at 720-407-5227 or mpeters@fas4pets.org.

Building Design and Features

The new shelter is specially designed to better serve animals during their temporary stay. An open room for a cat colony features natural lighting and multiple levels for the cats to jump and play. Many yard areas exist for volunteers to increase the amount of dogs that can be exercised and trained at one time. And, an on-site medical suite enables faster and more cost-effective medical care for animals in need.
