Some of Foothills Animal Shelter’s biggest supporters are children and teens who want to make a big difference in the lives of orphaned animals.

Although you must be 18 years of age or older to volunteer at the Shelter, there are other opportunities for young people to help the animals we care for, such as:

• Collect items on our Wish List as a school group, Boy Scout or Girl Scout Troop, with a group of friends, or individually. Visit our Wish List webpage for more information.

• Think of a creative way to help by using your special talents! Read below to learn how one young person helped in a unique way.

One boy’s New Year’s resolution helped homeless pets find new homes

Brooks, a ten-year-old animal lover, made an awesome New Year’s resolution to help the dogs, cats, and critters in our care.  While his family is unable to adopt due to allergies, Brooks knew that he could still do something special.  In January, Brooks used his computer skills to create a video slideshow using photos of the Shelter’s adoptable animals. This fantastic slideshow highlights all of the wonderful pets at our Shelter and is helping them find their forever homes!
